VISA UPDATE FOR SPIEF PARTICIPANTS: As we were informed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is sending an order to Consular section on simplified visa issuance to foreigners who would like to attend SPIEF. They will give a single-entry visa on the day of application on the basis of standard documents from the Roscongress (invitation) for the period of SPIEF + 2-3 days. If you already have a multiple-entry visa, then you do not need to apply for a new one, you can use it, but you need to send the data about the visa route to the Roscongress.

ABOUT THE FORUM
One of the biggest international economic forums in the world, SPIEF is hosted under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation. It is a vital event in the business world, with participants including heads of state and government, executives of international companies and organizations, and leading experts and journalists from around the world.
SPIEF is a unique opportunity for direct dialogue with government officials, business leaders, and the expert community. The forum provides an open discussion platform to the participants from all over the world to discuss key economic issues and engage in a constructive and fruitful exchange of opinions and ideas related to the Russian and global economic agendas.
SPIEF Investment & Business Expo are exhibitions run in conjunction with the Forum, where Russia’s regions can present their investment potential and specific projects to an international audience, and companies can display business development technologies, products, and solutions.
In 2019, the Forum was attended by more than 19,000 businessmen from 145 countries, there were also government and political figures among the participants from 110 countries, members of the business community representing more than 3,500 Russian and international companies, and heads of more than 1,800 Russian companies and 570 international ones. SPIEF 2019 saw 745 agreements and memorandums signed totaling 3.271 trillion rubles. One of the greatest agreement signed during the Forum was between Leningrad Region and EuroChem Group AG (memorandum of intent for signing special investment contracts during project implementation under EuroChem-Northwest-2 worth 163 billion rubles (USD 2.5 billion)).
