The CERBA-Vancouver Board of Directors in collaboration with the Vancouver Opera are pleased to invite you to the Festival of Russian music and culture "The Russian White Nights". We are proud to be involved with this exceptional event as the Media Partner.
The opening of the Festival will be attended by the Russian Ambassador, HE Alexander Darshiev, the Hon Consul of Russia in BC, HE Erin Chutter, leading representatives of business and culture..
From April 28 to May 6, under the banner of the Russian White Nights, the second annual Vancouver Opera Festival celebrates Russian composers with a Russian classic opera, a much anticipated opera premiere, a series of instrumental and vocal chamber music concerts, and much more.
Two major mainstage opera productions: Eugene Onegin and The Overcoat – a musical tailoring
Russia Day, Saturday, April 28: a day dedicated to Russian arts, music, food and culture. CircusWest has taken the inspiration of Scarlet Sails and created a circus performance especially for the Festival with gravity-defying acrobats, music and projections, all aboard a Scarlet Sails ship that will serve as the stage on the Queen Elizabeth Plaza. Adapted from the novel Scarlet Sails by Alexander Grin, this story of dreams, hope and faith will surely capture the hearts of people of all ages. Performances at 6:15pm and 7:30 pm.
Community partner, Palme Studios, will bring an assortment of entertainers and vendors to enliven the Queen Elizabeth Plaza space throughout the afternoon (2:00-6:00pm).
Admission to all outdoor Plaza events is free and family friendly.
