The below information is for information purposes only and may serve as a starting point, but not as the last resort.   ARMENIA

E-visa (120 days stay) - apply in advance

Canadian travellers require a valid visa to enter Armenia and can apply for a e-visa online: https://evisa.mfa.am/

For a longer duration of stay, a visitor visa is issued for a single entry or for multiple entries with validity of one year. Please check information on the website of the Embassy of Armenia in Canada.

  AZERBAIJAN

E-visa (30 days stay) - apply in advance

Canadian travellers should apply for electronic visas through online “ASAN Visa” system. E-visa is issued within 3 (three) working days and is valid for 30 days and the fee for it is 20$. Get detailed information and apply for electronic visas at www.evisa.gov.az

  BELARUS

1. No visa for stay up to 5 days if arriving at the Minsk International Airport

Effective February 12, 2017, Canadian passport holders can enter Belarus without visas for up to 5 days. The established order of visa-free movement through the airport does not extend to persons coming to Belarus by airplane from the Russian Federationas well as to those who intend to fly to the airports of the Russian Federation (such flights are considered as domestic ones and there is no border control. The travellers should comply with the following conditions:

  • To enter and exit through the Republic of Belarus visa-free via checkpoint «Minsk National Airport», 
  • Have the following documents

 - a valid passport or another substituting document for traveling abroad;

 - financial means: at least 25 Euros (or equal amount in dollars or Belarusian rubles) for each day of stay 

 - medical insurance with coverage for at least 10,000 Euros that covers the territory of Belarus.

If foreign citizens have no insurance policy (certificate of insurance) satisfying existing requirements, they can purchase one at the State border checkpoint of the Republic of Belarus «Minsk National Airport».

For a longer stay in Belarus, travellers should apply for a visa in advance:

2. In the Minsk International Airport upon arrival: short-term type C (stay up to 90 days) and long-term type D visas (valid 1 year, stay up to 90 days).

To obtain a visa upon arrival, the following conditions should be observed:

- The traveller should arrive at the Minsk International Airport from countries other than Russia

Visa support documents (an original invitation and its copy) should be submitted to the DAF by an inviting organization/person at least 2 business days before the expected arrival date. More information about the supporting documents is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

3. In Canada prior to departure through the Consular section of the Embassy: short-term type C (stay up to 90 days) and long-term type D visas (valid 1 year, stay up to 90 days).

More information about the requirements is available on the Embassy website. Typical processing time is up to 5 business days.
Please note that entry visa applications for a purpose of business, private or for participation in sport or cultural activities for the period of up to 30 days could be considered by the consular officer without visa support documents that confirm the purpose and conditions of the visit.

  KAZAKHSTAN


Visa-free up to 30 days

In accordance with the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, citizens of all member countries of the Organization of the Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), can travel to Kazakhstan visa free up to 30 days, starting from January 1, 2017. Canada is a member of the OECD. This applies only to Canadian passport holders.

You will need a visa for a longer stay in Kazakhstan. Please refer to the appropriate section of the website of the Embassy of Kazakhstan for information.
  KYRGYZSTAN


Visa-free up to 60 days

If you are intending to stay more than 60 days, you need to obtain a 3 months visa at the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA & Canada. For more information on application for 3 months visa, please check the requirements here.
 
  RUSSIA


Visa required - all durations of stay

Canadian travellers require a valid visa to enter Russia. For more information please refer to the website of the Consulate Division of the Embassy of Russia in Canada. Average processing time is 5 business days. The Consular Division of the Embassy of the Russian Federation accepts visa applications submitted through authorized Russian Visa Centre "Invisa Logistics Services Canada Ltd" located at:

  TAJIKISTAN

1. Visa upon arrival (up to 45 days stay)

Entry only through Dushanbe International Airport.

2. E-visa (up to 90 days stay) - apply in advance

Apply online. E-visa holders can enter through all border points. Average processing times - 2-3 business days.


  TURKMENISTAN

  UKRAINE


Visa required - all durations of stay

Canadian travellers require a valid visa to enter Ukraine. For more information please refer to the website of the Consulate Division of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada. Average processing time is 15 calendar days. Register your visa application online and schedule an appointment at the Ukrainian Consular office directly through the site http://visa.mfa.gov.ua.
  UZBEKISTAN
