Privacy Policy
Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association (CERBA), knows it is important to protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our guidelines for how personal information is collected and used by CERBA.

What is Personal and Non-Personal Information?
Personal information consists of names, addresses, home phone numbers and e-mail addresses.  Non-personal information is information that doesn't identify you as an individual. Your occupation or department are examples of non-personal information.  CERBA uses personal information and non-personal information.

Why does the CERBA Need Personal Information?
CERBA uses personal information to verify your membership, communicate with you about the activities of CERBA, and tell you about benefits available to you as a member.  Where required, information will be shared with third parties such as partners. It may also be used internally by CERBA for statistical purposes.

How Does CERBA Protect My Information?
Keeping your personal information secure is a high priority for CERBA. CERBA maintains appropriate safeguards and current security standards to protect your personal information, whether recorded on paper or stored electronically, against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.  Although CERBA does not take responsibility for any theft, misuse, unauthorized disclosure, loss, alteration or destruction of data by an outside third party, CERBA takes reasonable precautions to prevent such events.  We use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving consumer data exchanged with our site. When we receive a request to process a transaction that contains sensitive information such as credit card information, we redirect visitors to a secure third party server. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.

Can I Verify My Information?
Yes. CERBA can provide you with access to modify your personal information online. For details on updating your information, see the section on Updates: Information collected via the web, phone fax or email, below.

How does CERBA Collect Personal Information?

CERBA also collects information through correspondence that is received through e-mail as well as fax and phone calls. To update the information, please log in to our secured area on the website. There you will be able to view the current information that we have and have the ability to correct it if it is inaccurate.

The Web site: Information CERBA Collects Automatically
Like many websites, CERBA’s website automatically collects some non-personal information about website users, that does not identify the user. Information collected can include the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer, the IP address of your Internet Service Provider, the date and time you accessed the website, the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to the website, the operating system you are using, the sections of the website you visit, the pages on the website which you looked at, and information you downloaded from the website. This non-personal information is used for website and system administration purposes and to improve our website. The CERBA website uses cookies to record session information, such as items that consumers add to their shopping cart.

Links to Other Web Sites
Our website may contain "links" to other websites or Internet resources. If you use a "link", you are contacting another website or Internet resource. CERBA is not responsible or liable for other websites or Internet resources, including any collection, use and disclosure these sites make of your personal information. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of those other sites to learn how they collect your information.

How does CERBA Use Personal Information?

Updates, Newsletters and Contact Database.
CERBA prepares updates and newsletters, which are sent to all members and contacts in our database by e-mail and regular mail. If CERBA uses an outside company to print and/or mail the literature, information such as your address is given to the outside company. It is used to provide this service only. Once the service is provided, the information is destroyed. CERBA members also have the ability to search our entire database for contact information.

The information that is available to them is limited only to the contents of your business card. This service provides members with information which is used to search for potential business contacts. This same information is also available to all participants of various CERBA events.

Participate in a Survey
Sometimes CERBA may conduct surveys. These may be done by telephone, by mail or electronically. If you participate, you may be asked to provide personal information as well as additional optional survey information (for example, employment related questions). Information from the survey will be used to create a summary. The summary will not identify you, and is used strictly for analysis. CERBA will not share any personal information collected during this process.

Legal Disclosure
CERBA will disclose your information if you consent, or if it is required by law, for example, to comply with a subpoena or warrant, or an order made by a court, person or entity with jurisdiction to compel the production of information.

Will This Privacy Policy Change?
This policy may change to accommodate changes in our service, technology and legal developments. CERBA may add, change, or remove portions of this Policy if appropriate. Whenever we update this policy, we will change the date on the Policy (and on this page) to indicate when the changes were made.
